What is SOGEA FTTC?

SOGEA is FTTC without the physical telephone line — removing the telephone line can improve reliability and means you no longer need to pay for a separate telephone line.

What is FTTC Internet?

Fibre runs between the exchange and the street cabinet, then copper connects your premises to the cabinet; because fibre makes up most of the route, speeds are higher than all-copper connections.

What speeds are available?

Up to 80Mbps download is possible but depends on cabinet distance; you’re not guaranteed maximum speed, and upgrading from FTTC 40 to FTTC 80 does not guarantee improvement.

How reliable is it?

Shorter copper than ADSL and more fibre in the route can improve reliability.
