About vps hosting
A VPS sits between shared hosting and a dedicated server. You get a reserved allocation of processor, memory and storage on a shared physical host, isolated from the other tenants, with root or administrator access to configure it exactly as your application needs.
The practical advantage is headroom without commitment. Start with the resources the application needs today and increase them when traffic or user numbers grow, usually with a short restart rather than a rebuild and migration.
Managed and unmanaged options both exist for a reason. If you have developers who want control of the stack, take it unmanaged. If you would rather someone else handled patching, monitoring, backup and out-of-hours alerts, take it managed and treat it like any other supported service.
UK hosting keeps latency low for UK users and keeps data residency simple to answer. Backups are held with the same immutability and restore testing we apply to every other hosted workload.
If your VPS starts consistently running hot, we will say so and cost a dedicated server rather than quietly selling you a larger virtual machine every six months.
