Scale Teams calling without new hardware
Microsoft Teams is already central for messaging, files and meetings. Direct Routing extends Teams so you can also make and receive calls to and from landline and mobile numbers, from the same Teams app on laptop or mobile. Installation is cloud-based, so there’s no need for additional hardware or site visits.

What you need to enable Teams voice calling
To make and receive external calls in Microsoft Teams using Direct Routing, you need two things: the right Microsoft user licences and a compatible SIP service (sometimes described as PSTN connectivity).
On this service, Telappliant provides the carrier SIP trunking/voice service and connects it to Teams via Direct Routing (through our carrier network).
- Microsoft licences (per user who needs calling)
Each user who will make/receive external calls in Teams needs:
– Microsoft Teams
– Teams Phone - SIP services
Microsoft’s Direct Routing service uses a SIP trunk provider (such as Telappliant) to route calls to the wider phone network.
Choose your integration route
You can integrate Microsoft Teams calling with SelectVoice, or connect directly using our SIP trunking services.
We’ll recommend the simplest route based on what you’re running today.
Want to get started?
